EAST MEADOW, NY — New York Islanders head coach Patrick Roy is scratching veteran defenseman Scott Mayfield against the New York Rangers on Tuesday night.
In their 4-3 loss to the Dallas Stars on Sunday, Mayfield was on the ice for three goals against and didn’t touch the ice for the final 14:27 of game action.
He only played 10:36.

Roy is electing to reinstate Adam Boqvist into the lineup after he was a healthy scratch on Sunday for the first time since being claimed off waivers on Jan. 31.
