Brittany Altomare returned to action at the Honda LPGA Thailand for the first time since giving birth to son Wyatt last March. The 34-year-old said she was only carrying the ball 195 yards when she got back to work at the start of the year. Her focus now is on the gym.
“I was really nervous,” said Altomare of her first tournament since October 2023. “Not gonna lie. I had a lot of jitters.”
The LPGA maternity policy gives moms up to two years from the date of the baby’s birth to return to playing. The LPGA’s most current “Moms on Tour” document includes 17 moms listed in categories 1-16 and 19 on the 2025 Priority List. Several of the moms listed have yet to return to the tour.
It’s worth noting that Emma Talley, who is due to give birth to her first child in June, announced her retirement late last year. Austin Ernst, who gave birth to son Charlie in 2023, announced that she was stepping away from the tour two years ago.
Stacy Lewis was the last LPGA mom to win on the LPGA at the 2020 Scottish Open. Lewis gave birth to daughter Chesnee in 2018.
