Tuch Injured In Win Over The Rangers

Sabres winger Alex Tuch left the 8-2 victory over New York in the third period.

The Buffalo Sabres continued their success on home ice with a dominant 8-2 victory over the New York Rangers at Key Bank Center on Saturday. The Sabres scored five goals in the first period and chased Vezina Trophy winner Igor Shesterkin.

Rasmus Dahlin, Tage Thompson, and Ryan McLeod each had a pair of goals, but a damper was put on the victory in the third period when winger Alex Tuch left the game.

Tuch was felled by a check along the boards from Rangers defenseman K’Andre Miller and crumpled to the ice. The winger was slow to get back up, headed to the dressing room, and did not return.

“In my discussion with him, I don’t feel too concerned, but we’ll get more of an update tomorrow and see how he’s doing.” Sabres head coach Lindy Ruff said after the game.

The Sabres will practice on Monday and play the Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday before traveling to Raleigh to face the Carolina Hurricanes on Thursday.
