New Jersey Devils defenseman Dougie Hamilton is well-known for being an offensive defenseman. Heading into the Devils’ Feb. 23 contest against the Nashville Predators, the 6-foot-6 blueliner had eight goals, 38 points, and a plus-8 rating in 58 games.
Now, Hamilton has hit a major new milestone against the Predators. After scoring his ninth goal of the season at the 9:14 mark of the second period, the Devils star has now recorded the 500th point of his NHL career. It took the Toronto, Ontario native 830 games to reach this impressive stat.
