Leigh Leopards second-row Andrew Badrock has signed a contract extension until the end of the 2028 season.
The 24-year-old joined Leigh from Championship side Swinton Wildcats in October and scored a try in a preseason friendly against Warrington Wolves and in last week’s 60-0 Challenge Cup win at Workington Town.
“It’s a very unprecedented situation offering a player an extension just a few months after signing him but is really just evidence of how impressed we’ve been with Andy’s ability and attitude since he’s joined us,” said head of rugby Chris Chester.
Leigh start the new Super League campaign with an away game against reigning champions Wigan Warriors on Thursday evening, having lost 38-0 to them in last season’s play-off semi-finals.
“I have enjoyed the first couple of months with the team, as well as having the opportunity to work with Adrian (Lam) and rest of the coaching staff,” Badrock said.
“I can see the direction the club is going in and their ambitions for success. Hopefully I can be apart of that and see what we can achieve in the next couple of years.”
