The Nashville Predators signed defenseman Adam Wilsby to a two-year contract Sunday worth $775,000 at the NHL level in 2025-26 (two-way) and $775,000 in 2026-27 (one-way).
The 24-year-old Stockholm, Sweden, native has skated in 23 games for the Predators in 2024-25, recording five points (1 goal, 4 assists) and a +3 rating in 18:06 of average ice time.
Wilsby made his NHL debut with Nashville on Nov. 27 against the Philadelphia Flyers and went on to score his first career NHL goal on Dec. 17 against the New York Rangers. He ranks fourth among Predators defensemen in ice time per game and has added 18 hits and 17 blocked shots.
Originally selected by Nashville in the fourth round (No. 101 overall) of the 2020 NHL Draft, Wilsby made his North American professional debut with the AHL’s Milwaukee Admirals in 2022. In 146 games with the Admirals, Wilsby has recorded 10 goals and 34 assists.
Wilsby missed each of the Predators’ last two games and is currently day-to-day with an upper-body injury. Forwards Luke Evangelista and Zachary L’Heureux are also day-to-day, while Mark Jankowski and Jeremy Lauzon remain on Injured Reserve. The Predators recalled Joakim Kemell and Ozzy Wiesblatt and defenseman Kevin Gravel from Milwaukee for reinforcement over the weekend but reassigned the trio to the Admirals Sunday in light of the upcoming break.
Nashville is off for nearly two weeks due to the break for the 4 Nations Face-Off, which will see Juuse Saros (Finland) and Filip Forsberg and Gustav Nyquist (Sweden) compete against the U.S. and Canada in Boston and Montreal.
The Predators’ season resumes Saturday, Feb. 22, when they host the Colorado Avalanche at 5 p.m. CT at Bridgestone Arena.
