Zhang Weili has dispelled who many thought to be the biggest threat to her strawweight title reign in the form of Tatiana Suarez at UFC 312.
Weili (26-3 MMA, 10-2 UFC) continued her rule over the 115-pound weight class when she halted the run of the previously unbeaten and highly touted Suarez (10-1 MMA, 7-1 UFC) by one-sided unanimous decision in Saturday’s co-headliner at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney.

10-9 Suarez. But Weili stormed back late and very well may have stolen the round on a judge’s scorecard. This is a chess match! #UFC312

Very big round for Zhang. Landed some great shots in ground-and-pound and had a hard right hand in the stand-up. She takes Round 2 10-9 on my card and fight is even 19-19. #UFC312
