In the first part of Episode 7, we are taken inside the room as Rory Kerins prepares for his NHL debut. He has a couple of assists, including one on his first shift, much to the chagrin of everyone on the bench.

As expected, everyone has good things to say about Kerins and the journey to his debut. Head coach Ryan Huska praised his commitment and skills, explaining how happy he was with his debut and that he never forced the play.

After a convincing win against the Chicago Blackhawks, the team packed and loaded their bags as they bolted from the rink for their flight to St. Louis. The bags and gear were laid out in the room where the equipment guys eventually made their way to the hotel sometime after 3:30 a.m.

Ultimately, there was no rest for the weary. The Flames were back in action 24 hours later, dropping the first of two games to the Blues on Tuesday night.

On Thursday, Calgary experienced deja vu, as they didn’t have the response they wanted in the second game against St. Louis in less than 48 hours.

However, the team didn’t have much time to dwell on the mistakes as it traveled to Winnipeg for a Hockey Day in Canada showdown with the Jets.

The final part of the episode focuses on netminder Dustin Wolf and his brilliant performance against the Jets, where the rookie goalie made 38 saves to will the Flames to an upset win over the top team in the NHL (at the time).

In addition to praise from goalie coach Jason Labarbera and local media personalities, we get to see Wolf’s work between games and how loose he appears in practices.

Whether chirping teammates or providing commentary on the plays around him, Wolf has all the tools to be a stand-up comedian while making acrobatic saves look effortless.

Episode 7 of The Chase is available on the Flames’ YouTube channel and the team’s multimedia page.
