Golden Knights Forward Exits Game Against Bruins With An Upper-Body Injury

Vegas Golden Knights forward Victor Olofsson exited Saturday’s contest against the Boston Bruins with an upper-body injury.

Olofsson took a puck up high in his first shift of the game, and ESPN’s Emily Kaplan reported that he would not return. On Thursday against the New Jersey Devils, Olofsson went down the tunnel in pain but did return to the game.

The 29-year-old has been great for the Golden Knights when healthy, scoring 11 goals and 20 points in 34 games. He’s been a shot threat on the power play and at 5-on-5 while playing several minutes with the Golden Knights’ top three centers. His previous chemistry with Jack Eichel has been apparent when they’ve played together, but Olofsson was a key figure in Tomas Hertl’s recent 11-game point streak.

Without Olofsson, HC Bruce Cassidy will rely heavily on Ivan Barbashev, Mark Stone, Pavel Dorofeyev and Brandon Saad to replace his minutes.
