Seravalli later reported that the Flyers are sending Morgan Frost and Joel Farabee to the Flames as a part of the deal.

With the Flyers and Flames discussing a Kuzmenko trade, the 5-foot-11 forward has been scratched for Calgary’s Jan. 30 matchup against the Anaheim Ducks. Pelletier dressed for the game, but the Flames announced that he was leaving the contest.

Kuzmenko, 28, is a pending unrestricted free agent who has been creating chatter in the rumor this season. In 37 games this campaign, he has four goals, 15 points, and a minus-7 rating. This includes three goals and five points over his last five contests.

Kuzmenko has shown in the past that he has the potential to produce decent offense when playing at his best. During his first NHL season with the Vancouver Canucks in 2022-23, he had 39 goals and 74 points in 81 games. Furthermore, after being traded by the Canucks to the Flames last season, he had 14 goals and 25 points in 29 games.

Pelletier, on the other hand, is a former first-round pick with decent upside. In 23 games this season with the Flames, the 23-year-old forward has four goals, 11 points, and a plus-10 rating.

Frost and Farabee have been trade candidates for the Flyers for quite some time and now both players are heading to Calgary. Frost has appeared in 48 games this season, where he has 11 goals and 25 points. Farabee, on the other hand, has eight goals and 19 points in 49 contests.

This story will be updated as more information about the trade is revealed.
