Will the underdogs be victorious in the AFC and NFC championship games?

Bettors at BetMGM are siding with both the Washington Commanders and Buffalo Bills against the spread and on the moneyline ahead of Sunday’s games. The Commanders are getting 62% of bets and 63% of the money as 6-point underdogs at the Philadelphia Eagles, while the Bills are getting 61% of bets and 52% of the money as 2-point dogs at the Kansas City Chiefs.

That means the best outcome for the sportsbook is a win by both favorites.

“The sports book is hoping for the Chiefs vs. Eagles Super Bowl; the public is all over the underdogs to win and this matchup would generate great action,” BetMGM’s Christian Cipollini said in a statement.

The Commanders are at +240 to win the game straight up and that’s the most popular bet as of Friday morning. The second-most popular bet is the Bills to beat the Chiefs straight up at +110. A whopping 85% of bets on the moneyline in the NFC title game are on the Commanders, while the Bills are getting 73% of moneyline bets.

The Eagles are -300 to win straight up and the Chiefs are at -130. Both lines have shifted a half-point as well. The Eagles opened as 5.5-point favorites and the Chiefs were 1.5-point favorites after the Bills beat the Ravens a week ago.

Cipollini added that the book would prefer Saquon Barkley and Josh Allen to stay out of the end zone on Sunday. Barkley is -225 to score a TD against the Commanders and his anytime TD prop is the most-bet player prop ahead of the game. Allen is +100 to score a rushing or receiving TD, and he’s the most-bet player to score a TD in the AFC title game ahead of Travis Kelce at +130 and Xavier Worthy at +200.

Barkley is also the most-bet player to score the first TD against the Commanders (+360) along with Allen to score first against the Chiefs (+650).

Bettors are hoping for high-scoring games as well, though there’s considerably more money on the over in the AFC title game than there is in the NFC. The total of 48 for the Bills and Chiefs has stayed stagnant even though 67% of bets and 89% of money is on the over. In the NFC, the total has dropped a half-point to 47.5 as 72% of bets and 51% of money is on the over.
