The Boston Bruins have recalled goaltender Michael DiPietro from the Providence Bruins, it was reported Thursday.
DiPietro, who is in his third season with the Bruins organization, has made 22 appearances for Providence in 2024-25, posting a record of 14-5-4, a 1.95 GAA and a .930 SP.
Drafted by the Vancouver Canucks in the third round of the 2017 NHL Draft, DiPietro has made three career NHL appearances, positing a record of 0-2-0 to go along with a 5.26 GAA and a .771 SP. Having turned pro in 2019-20, DiPietro has played in 127 AHL regular season games with the Bruins, Utica Comets and the Abbotsford Canucks.
As DiPietro gets recalled to join Boston, he will have the chance to make his first NHL appearance since the 2021-22 season. Having gotten a lot more pro experience under his belt since then, DiPietro has been borderline unbeatable this season and deserves another shot to prove he can hang at the NHL level.
