Minnesota Wild Assign David Jiricek To Iowa

The Minnesota Wild have assigned defenseman David Jiricek to the Iowa Wild, it was reported Wednesday.

Jiricek, who was acquired by the Wild in November, has appeared in six games for the Wild this season, collecting a goal and an assist. Through 11 games with Iowa, Jiricek has two assists.

During his time with the Columbus Blue Jackets organization this season, Jiricek had one assist in six NHL games and three points in four AHL games.

Drafted by the Blue Jackets in the first round of the 2022 NHL Draft, Jiricek has appeared in 59 NHL regular season games over parts of three seasons, compiling 13 career points.

While this season has brought about a lot of movement for Jiricek, he has shown flashes of what made him a highly sought after talent at the 2022 NHL Draft. Although he has yet to find a permanent spot in an NHL lineup, Jiricek should challenge for one with the Wild next season.
