The Boston Bruins have recalled forwards Patrick Brown and Max Jones from the Providence Bruins, it was announced Tuesday.
A product of Bloomfield Hills, Mich., and the current captain of Providence, Brown has spent time in both the NHL and AHL this season. Although he was held pointless in his lone NHL game, Brown has scored nine goals and collected 25 points in 37 games in Providence.
Having turned pro in 2014, Brown has appeared 150 career NHL regular season games with the Bruins, Carolina Hurricanes, Vegas Golden Knights, Philadelphia Flyers and Ottawa Senators. Across that time span, he has 10 goals and 15 assists for 25 points.
Drafted by the Anaheim Ducks in the first round of the 2016 NHL Draft, Jones is in his first season with the Bruins. In four NHL games, Jones has yet to register a point but has put up 11 points in 26 AHL games.
A staple with the Ducks for many years, Jones has played in 262 career NHL regular season games, accumulating 62 points.
With Brown and Jones having solid NHL experience under their belts, they have both proven to be reliable depth players when called upon. As the Bruins look to keep up in the playoff race, Jones and Brown will have the opportunity to get into the lineup and prove they can contribute.
