Hurricanes Veteran Goaltender Could Possibly Make His Return Against The Golden Knights

Carolina Hurricanes goaltender Frederik Andersen has been out since Oct. 26 after undergoing knee surgery but has been activated from the injured reserve ahead of tonight’s game against the Vegas Golden Knights.

Everything hasn’t been smooth sailing recently as they have been for most of the season. The Golden Knights have lost three of their last four games and are in line to take on a strong Hurricanes team that could be getting another boost with the return of Andersen.

The 35-year-old suffered a lower-body injury four games into the season and has been dealing with injury issues throughout most of his Hurricanes career. With Andersen absent, Pyotr Kochetkov has been stepped up and played as the No.1 goalie.

The Hurricanes haven’t announced a starter tonight, but Andersen will be available. Dustin Tokarski was sent down to the Chicago Wolves, the Hurricanes’ AHL affiliate, to make space for Andersen to be activated to the IR.

If Andersen does start, he has a 5-4-0 record against the Golden Knights.
