The American Express is the third event on the PGA Tour’s 2025 schedule and after two straight weeks in Hawaii, it’s the first tournament of the West Coast swing.
There are 156 players in the field and the tournament uses three golf courses: Pete Dye Stadium Course, La Quinta Country Club and the Jack Nicklaus Tournament Course. Each golfer plays one round on each of the three courses, then the final round will be held on the Stadium Course on Sunday.
There is a purse of $8.8 million and a first-place prize of $1.584 million. Nick Dunlap is the defending champion. The top two players in the world, Scottie Scheffler and Xander Schauffele, were originally committed but have both since withdrawn.
