Ryan Lindgren Linked To Red Wings In Trade Rumor

Ryan Lindgren will to become an unrestricted free agent next season as he’s been the subject of multiple trade rumors.

The New York Rangers are at an interesting point right now. The team is currently outside of a wild card spot, and its playoff hopes are slowly dwindling.

Rangers general manager Chris Drury must decide if he wants to either push for the playoffs or take a seller’s approach at the NHL Trade Deadline in March.

NHL insider Frank Seravalli brought up the idea of the Detroit Red Wings trading for Lindgren if the Rangers indeed are willing to move on from him.

“I wonder about Detroit. Is he that big of an upgrade, though? That’s the question I’d have to ask,” Seravalli said. “And I don’t know how big the Red Wings are gonna spend…”

Lindgren’s future in New York may be determined by whether the Rangers are still in the playoff hunt come trade deadline time.

The 26-year-old defenseman has recorded two goals, seven assists and nine points in 37 games while averaging 19:46 minutes.
