BEST BET: Player Prop Looks Attractive In Tonight’s Knights-Preds Clash In Nashville

Sitting on an 8-4 win streak with Best Bets, I’m going to look at a player prop tonight, as the Vegas Golden Knights visit the Nashville Predators.

After acquiring Steven Stamkos and Jonathan Marchessault during the offseason, things haven’t gone as planned for the Predators, who are seventh in the Central Division and 14th in the Western Conference.

Now they welcome the NHL’s hottest team over the past 54 days, as the Golden Knights lead the league with 37 points since Nov. 21. It looks to easy to play Vegas in this one, doesn’t it? It makes me wonder why the price is so low.

Let’s do a deep dive into this one:

WHY VEGAS: The Golden Knights have been awfully stingy during their 7 1/2-week run, allowing a league second-fewest 2.21 goals per game. But in that same span, Vegas is 8-1-1 on the road, and it’s been due to an offensive surge. The Knights, who are scoring 3.42 goals per game this season, have scored an average of 3.70 goals per road game since Nov. 21. An offensive outburst to start this road trip makes sense.

WHY NASHVILLE: The Predators have split their last four, including two road wins. They returned home after playing six on the road, and it’s no secret that most teams struggle in their first home game after being on the road. We generally see a solid showing in the second game. Nashville knows what Vegas is bringing to the ice tonight, and will offer their best hockey after a 4-1 home loss to the Caps on Saturday.

Tonight’s betting line is from DraftKings and is subject to change. Hockey is a difficult sport to predict so please gamble responsibly.

THE PICK: MARCHESSAULT POINTS 1-over -145 — This is the first time Jonathan Marchessault will face his former team, and I’m betting he’ll get at least one point. He has one assist in each of the last four games. Since opening the season with just 15 points in 29 games, Marchessault has registered 16 points (7 goals, 9 assists) in his last 13 games. There’s no doubt he’ll be triggered to get on the scoresheet against a Vegas team that let him walk last summer.

(Season Record: 13-14-0, Net: -230$, based on 100$ units)
