How’s this for an “overreaction”? 2025 will be the last year Jon Jones fights in the UFC … if we’re lucky.

Jones returned from injury in 2024 to fight only once at UFC 309 last month, when he finished Stipe Miocic to retain the heavyweight championship. That title, however, is in dispute considering Tom Aspinall is currently the interim heavyweight champ, who even defended his belt back in July with a first-round TKO of Curtis Blaydes.

UFC CEO Dana White recently guaranteed that Jones vs. Aspinall, the fight everyone wants to see, will happen in 2025. But will it? Or could negotiations between Jones and the UFC go sideways, and he decides to end his career after a triumphant return at UFC 309?

MMA Junkie’s Simon Samano and Mike Bohn discussed Jones’ future in the latest edition of “Overreaction Time.”
