Charlotte Checkers Recall Keith Kinkaid From ECHL

The Charlotte Checkers have recalled goaltender Keith Kinkaid from the ECHL’s Savannah Ghost Pirates, it was announced Thursday.

Kinkaid, a product of Farmingville, N.Y., has spent the entire season playing for the Ghost Pirates, compiling a record of 4-6-1, a 3.03 GAA and a .884 SP.

Having spent the 2023-24 season with the Chicago Wolves, Kinkaid posted a 8-14-2 record, a 3.54 GAA and a .880 SP through 24 appearances.

The 35 year old has 169 career NHL regular season appearances over parts of 11 seasons with the New Jersey Devils, Montreal Canadiens, New York Rangers, Boston Bruins and Colorado Avalanche. Over that span, he has posted a 70-58-21 record, a GAA of 2.91 and a .905 SP.

Although this season marks the first time in his career that he has seen time in the ECHL, Kinkaid has proven that he’s capable of filling in whenever called upon at both the AHL and NHL levels. He should get into games with the Checkers and be a serviceable player who could stick with them for the rest of the season.
