LAS VEGAS — The Golden Knights will undoubtedly go into the NHL’s three-day holiday break stress-free, as they’ve won four straight and eight of nine. They’re tied for second in the league with 49 points—two shy of the Winnipeg Jets—and have ranked No. 1 overall with 25 points since Nov. 21.
Vibes are good right now.
Since the Golden Knights entered the league in 2017, vibes have generally been good during the holidays. This includes visits to local charities or hospitals, community outreach projects, and the time former Golden Knights Ryan Reaves and William Carrie transitioned into Reavo Claus with Willie the Elf for some youths.
Vibes can bring out joy in everyone.
Thus, some players had fun talking about Christmas, and who might be the one guy in the room who would venture into a forest to chop down a Douglas Fir or Classic Blue Spruce, or is most likely to watch the classic claymation Christmas movies.
Even a couple of former Golden Knights made the poll.
Here are the answers from Monday’s Christmas poll with a few of the Golden Knights:
Who is most likely to chop down his own Christmas tree?
Shea Theodore – “Who are you looking for a manly man? I’d say (former Golden Knight) William Carrier, but …”
William Karlsson – “I know, he was like the easy answer. I don’t know. You know, the new generation, they don’t do sh-t.”
Brayden McNabb – “Who’s the manly man here? I don’t know, geez, trying to figure it out. Not (Nic) Haguer, that’s for sure. That’s a tough one, I’d say (Noah) Hanifin.”
Jack Eichel – “Probably Nabber,” meaning McNabb.
Who is most likely to go all out with the lawn decorations and house lights?
William Karlsson – “Probably me and my wife.”
Brayden McNabb – “(Fomer Knight) Nate Schmidt, if he was still here. Probably Jack (Eichel). Jack probably does, I would say. We had a Christmas party there and he had it decked out pretty good. Karly’s (Karlsson) probably the most Christmas, he loves Christmas.”
Jack Eichel – “I could see Whitey (Zach Whitecloud) having a lot. I can see Stoney (Mark Stone) having a lot. Those would probably be my two picks.
Who is the Grinch of the room?
William Karlsson – “We actually did a top 3, but we only got Keegs (Kolesar), because when we played Christmas music up in the gym he changed it. So, that’s pretty Grinchy.”
Keegan Kolesar – “I mean (Karlsson) plays Christmas music every day from Dec. 1. I’m not listening to Mariah Carey when I’m trying to get a lift in, I’m gonna listen to the Chili Peppers or something. Sorry to him.”
Brayden McNabb – “I don’t know, I think everyone probably enjoys it. Maybe, I don’t know, (Ilya) Samsonov, I don’t hear him talk about Christmas.”
Jack Eichel – “I don’t know, I don’t think we have a Grinch. I think everyone’s pretty excited for the holiday, we don’t really have any Grinches in here, which is good.”
Who would make the best Santa?
William Karlsson – “Someone hairy, maybe Hauger? He’s still young, but he’s got potential.”
Brayden McNabb – “Santa? Karlsson, probably.”
Who’s most likely to watch all the old-school Christmas cartoons?
Brayden McNabb – “Cartoons? Not movies, cartoons. Probably Karly I would say. He’s into Star Wars and stuff so maybe that translates.”
Jack Eichel – “Honestly, I really like them. Those are great. Probably some of the guys with kids. I don’t know though cause there’s probably new more recent Christmas movies. Petro’s (Alex Pietrangelo) got young kids, (Tanner) Pearson, obviously a lot of the guys on our team have little kids. But their kids are starting to get a little bit older know, maybe they’d watch them.”
