Kent bowler Fred Klaassen has signed a new one-year contract to play white-ball cricket at the Canterbury club next season.

The Netherlands international has taken 61 wickets in 55 T20 appearances since joining the club in 2019.

A left-arm seamer, Klaassen has 58 international caps across white ball cricket, taking 75 wickets.

The 32-year-old was part of the Spitfires’ T20 Blast title-winning squad in 2021, taking 4-17 against Sussex Sharks in the semi-final.

However, he missed the 2024 competition with a back injury, which was sustained on international duty in May.

“I’m really pleased to commit to Kent for at least another year at what feels like a fresh start for us and the start of something exciting,” he told the club’s website.

“A big contributing factor to me committing to Kent was having Adam Hollioake come in as head coach, and I’m looking forward to working with him and the rest of the squad to hopefully put some big performances in 2025 after a disappointing 2024 due to injury.”
