West Ham Utd 2-5 Arsenal
Chelsea 3-0 Aston Villa
Manchester Utd 4-0 Everton
Tottenham Hotspur 1-1 Fulham
Liverpool 2-0 Manchester City
Here we go, let’s check out the Sports Alert News Team power rankings for this week:
1) Liverpool – can anybody stop the Reds from marching towards the Premier league title? After defeating reigning champions Manchester City 2-0 at Anfield, the Merseyside club are now 9 points clear of their nearest rivals. With the best defence in the league, a creative and combative midfield plus a forward line that includes the talismanic Mohammed Salah, the title is Liverpool’s to lose.
2) Arsenal – the return of club captain Martin Odegaard and influential winger Bukayo Saka have transformed Arsenal’s season and if any club looks like potentially getting anywhere close to Liverpool it would be the Gunners. After dismantling West Ham in their last game, Arsenal welcome a rejuvenated Manchester Utd to the Emirates stadium this week in a mouthwatering match up as they look to continue their recent form.
3) Chelsea – another game and another victory for the Blues as they comfortably defeated Aston Villa 3-0 at Stamford Bridge. Despite what appeared to be another chaotic transfer window, the squad depth that Chelsea possess is now coming to fruition as they are able to keep their star players fit and rested for each Premier league game. With Cole Palmer continuing to move towards world class status and Nicholas Jackson on a hot goalscoring streak, Chelsea are looking good for a Top 4 finish.
4) Brighton & Hove Albion – The Seagulls may have been held to a 1-1 draw by bottom of the table Southampton on Friday night, however their recent form has taken them into the Top 4 and the Champions League positions. With an attacking brand of football and a transfer strategy that continues to unearth hidden gems, the future looks bright for Brighton.
5) Nottingham Forest – have put a couple of recent defeats behind them with a hard fought 1-0 victory over Ipswich that moved them back into the Top 6. With Chris Wood continuing to score the goals and with a congested table, could the Tricky Trees sustain their push for a European spot?
